The EU-ACP electronic forum opened its doors in May 1999. It did so following a phase of capitalization of cooperation experiences in 8 countries that had been the opportunity to establish a diagnosis and proposals on the European cooperation. These results had been discussed at the time of a seminar (see document of restitution).
The first phase of the forum, from May to October 1999, had been the opportunity to open these results to a broad public, and to validate and to amend proposals made during the seminar. The second phase, from November to April 2000, made possible to explore new fields proposed by participants then (development education in the South and the North, the driving role of universities of the South in development, the role of the media and their interaction with Internet to inform citizens of the North and the South better, etc. (see archives of the forum)
